Art Installer - Full Time

The Chessler Co, a family-owned company with 65 years of history in Baltimore, is currently looking for an art installer to join our team. Core duties include professional installation and hanging of various forms of art, including prints, paintings, photographs, sculptures, and other artistic pieces in corporate offices, hospitals, senior living facilities, apartment buildings and personal residences.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with clients, interior designers, and project managers to understand installation requirements and specifications.
  • Safely transport and handle artwork to ensure its integrity during the installation process.
  • Utilize appropriate tools, equipment, and techniques to securely and aesthetically hang art pieces according to design plans and artistic vision.
  • Ensure proper measurement, spacing, and alignment of artwork, considering architectural features and lighting conditions.
  • Provide on-site problem-solving and adjustments as needed to achieve desired visual impact and client satisfaction.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and represent the company positively during client interactions and installation projects.

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in using various installation tools and techniques, including tape measures, drills, anchors, and hanging hardware. Must be able to measure to the 1/8 in and do quick mental math.  
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of craftsmanship.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with clients and team members.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently while adhering to project timelines and deadlines.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to lift, maneuver, and install heavy artwork safely.
  • Comfortable at heights up to 25ft on ladders and scaffolding. 
  • Driver’s license and good driving record is required. Must also be capable of driving large vans and small box trucks. 

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required

Pay:

  • $20-$26 per hour

Additional Information:

This position regularly requires travel to different installation sites within the greater Mid-Atlantic region with occasional overnight stays (approximately 10 nights per year).
